Diwali cleaning, or 'safai', is one of the biggest household undertakings of the year for most Indian families. Unlike a regular weekend clean, Diwali cleaning means going through every cupboard, shelf and corner of the house — which is exactly why it is so easy for tasks to be forgotten or left half-done.
